Keep Your Website Relevant
Your website should be an effective tool to share your mission. To that end, NPower has hosted online webinars and on-site brown bag discussions to share simple strategies for website maintenance to help nonprofits keep their sites relevant. Below is a recent webinar recording and a content plan spreadsheet to help nonprofit staff members track current content, plan for the development of new content, and map out a schedule for the evaluation and archival of old content.

Content Plan Spreadsheet
The content plan spreadsheet will help you track current and future content on your website. Each row in the table represents one piece of web content and includes vital maintenance information including:
- Publication date
- Upcoming maintenance tasks and dates
- Planned archive date
- Target audience
- Contact information of people who contributed facts to the content
This central repository will streamline your website planning and maintenance, resulting in a more vibrant reflection of your organization on the web.
The spreadsheet is not intended to replace your Content Management Software (CMS). This spreadsheet is intended for volunteers and staff who contribute to and manage web content using any type of web software.
The spreadsheet was created with Excel 2010, however it can be opened and used by older versions of Excel, Google spreadsheets, and OpenOffice.org Calc.
