Discovery Blitz - to the cloud!
We’ve all seen the marketing, we’ve had board members share their back of the envelope calculations of savings, and now many us are struggling with the question of whether "the cloud" is right or not. Our team (Noah, Shawn and Mike) is working to develop a readiness assessment that nonprofits can use to determine if their organization is ready and/or able to use cloud services and to what extent cloud services are appropriate. Before we started, we answered, “what is the cloud?”

Our team (Noah, Shawn and Mike) is working to develop a readiness assessment that nonprofits can use to determine if their organization is ready and/or able to use cloud services and to what extent cloud services are appropriate.
Before we started, we answered, “what is the cloud?”
We agreed it is:
• Technology that is not physically in same building
• It uses the interwebs and “its tubes”
• Infrastructure and connectivity that consumers don’t manage
• An abstraction which separates the technology from the user/data so that you don’t have to “worry” about how the data gets to you
We agreed we should help people understand:
• Cloud categories
• Cloud concerns
• Cloud costs
• Cloud cautions
• Cloud conditions
• Clever cloud vs complex cloud
We’re having a really good time and doing some fabulous thinking.
Oh my, now’s there’s a flow chart being built that asks the right questions that will ensure your infrastructure is driving your mission.
Who wants to be the first to pilot our new assessment?
