Discovery Blitz - business continuity: getting back to work after a disaster
Our Discovery Blitz day has officially kicked off! We’ll be blogging about the variety of projects that we’re working on developing. I had a chance to pop into the initial brainstorming session of the business continuity services group. They are thinking through solutions to help our nonprofit clients weather the storm of a disaster that could take out their technology.

I had a chance to pop into the initial brainstorming session of the business continuity services group. They are thinking through solutions to help our nonprofit clients weather the storm of a disaster that could take out their technology. The term “disaster” can encompass a variety of problems. Maybe your single server fails, taking with it your entire donor database. How would your organization recover from a hit like that? Many of our nonprofit clients provide vital health and human services. How can we ensure that they have the systems and planning in place to get up-and-running in the event of a natural disaster, such as the recent earthquake in Japan?
Right now that team is thinking through solutions to help organizations identify risks and make effective plans to mitigate varying levels of technology disasters. They’re also considering what hardware, licensing, and staffing would be required to implement these services. There’s an awful lot to consider so it’s a good thing they have the most NPower staff members in their group at the moment.
Stay tuned for updates from the other groups!
