Ash Shepherd
Ash has been with NPower Northwest since the summer of 2010, immediately following a three-year stint at NPower Oregon. His position here focuses on the planning, design and evaluation stages of projects. He’s also well-versed in online communication strategy, development, and coaching and acts as our internal social media guru. Before joining our team, he devoted almost a decade to social work, and youth program development.
Outside of the office, Ash’s commitment to nonprofit technology remains apparent. He is on the editorial board for NTEN’s online publication, Change, and is the Co-Manager for PDXTech4Good, a joint effort of Net Tuesday and 501 Tech Clubs in Portland. Outside of the nonprofit tech world, Ash is involved with the Wilderness Action Group of South Africa and spends his free time enjoying the outdoors, biking, and playing indoor soccer.
Favorite tech tool: HootSuite and TweetDeck combination.
Favorite quote: “Failing to plan is planning to fail.”
Fun fact: Ash has two degrees from two countries (the US and South Africa) in Protected Area Land Management.
