Ceil Erickson
Director of Community Grantmaking Programs, The Seattle Foundation
Ceil joined The Seattle Foundation, one of the largest private funders of nonprofit organizations in King County, in 1996. Ceil is responsible for managing the Community Grantmaking Program, which awards $5.8 million annually to a variety of nonprofit organizations. She also oversees other grantmaking programs administered by the Foundation including Medical Funds and the Whitehorse Foundation. Before joining the Foundation, Ceil worked as a Development Director for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and for Planned Parenthood.
Ceil joined the NPower board in 2008 because she loves supporting the nonprofit sector. While Ceil admits that she doesn't know a lot about technology, she enjoys being in an environment where she can learn about the issues from knowledgeable people. Outside of work and NPower board service, Ceil keeps busy with her two kids - one is learning to drive, and the other needs to be driven everywhere. Ceil keeps active coaching volleyball and paying softball. She enjoys reading historical fiction when she has a moment to relax.
